Writing and Editing

I edit the bimonthly journal of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, which involves everything from commissioning to subbing, proofing and layout.

I co-wrote (with Gianna Knowles of London South Bank University) Understanding Family Diversity and Home-School Relations: a guide for students and practitioners in early years and primary settings, published by Routledge in July 2012. I contributed the chapters on foster care, adoption, disability, same-sex parenting and mixed-race families. I also contributed to Watch My Baby Grow, published by Dorling Kindersley in 2015.

Drawing on my background in the social care sector, I have edited a number of reports for organisations including ippr, the Clore Social Leadership Programme, the Mental Health Foundation, and the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities.

I’ve written and edited digital and print copy for a wide range of organisations including:

the Department of Health

the CPRE

the Arts Council

the Clore Social Leadership Programme

the Royal College of Physicians

Help the Aged (now Age UK)

The Children’s Society

Save the Children Fund

the Mental Health Foundation

the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities

the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery

the New Economics Foundation

the Local Government Association
